The music of a bagpipe is a powerful way to mark a special occasion. Kara has two decades of experience working with folks to craft the experience they want with the pipes, be it a wedding, memorial service, party, or other ceremonial gathering. Please read the "Tips for Hiring a Bagpiper" page for ideas on how to incorporate the pipes into your event. The page also includes logistical considerations related to the pipes.

Rates

​

Rates take into a consideration a number of variables, including performance time, event time, and travel. In general, I'm happy to travel between Calais and Machias and points in between, and will play farther afield with appropriate compensation for mileage and time. As a baseline, most events start at $100 minimum and move from there.

Lessons

​

Lessons are available for $20/hour. Students are responsible for providing their own practice chanter and for acquiring a copy of "The Green Book" - a standard resource for bagpipe instruction.
